OUTLINE ITINERARY:

The following itinerary is intended as a working guide only and it is subject to variation as a result of local conditions, weather and governmental restrictions. We reserve the right to alter (lengthen or shorten) the trip at any time if necessary. Airline schedules are subject to change, both international and domestic, and it may be necessary to vary our itinerary to adapt to these changes.

Day 1
Arrive in Mineralnye Vody. Drive to the hotelĀ (at about 2100 m) in Baksan Valley near Mt Elbrus.

Day 2
Transfer to Cheget Glade, 2200 m. Ski-tour from the hotel to Cheget summit (3400m, 4 hours walking up). Descent to the hotel.

Day 3
Use the Elbrus lift system to reach Garabashi Huts (3800m). Ski-tour on the lower slopes up to 4400m. Night at the huts.

Day 4
Ski-tour up to the Pastukhov Rocks at 4800m for acclimatisation. Descent to the huts.

Day 5
Ascent of Mt Elbrus, 5642 m. Possible renting of a snowcat to assist for the first 500m of the ascent.

Day 6
Spare day for the Summit.

Day 7
Descent to Baksan Valley. Return to the hotel.

Day 8
Transfer to Mineralnye Vody. Departure*.
